The heart of Hoogland’s Landscape isn’t just in our history—it’s in our people. From designers and foremen to project managers and office staff, our team is made up of hardworking, talented individuals who bring this business to life every single day.

Many of our employees have been with us for years—some for decades. Their dedication, skill, and pride in their work are what keep our standards high and our clients happy. They are the reason Hoogland’s has grown into the trusted name it is today, and we’re proud to introduce them to you.

Following our office team bios, you'll find a group photo of our field crew—the men who make this business move every single day. Their work is physically demanding and deeply skilled, and we hold their contributions in the highest regard. They are the backbone of Hoogland’s, and we’re honored to have such a loyal, hardworking crew representing us out in the field.

John Hoogland

President & Lead Designer

John leads Hoogland’s Landscape with a focus on design excellence, sales leadership, and long-term business growth. As a hands-on leader, John is deeply involved in project design and estimating while also guiding the company's culture and vision. His passion for quality craftsmanship and client relationships continues to shape Hoogland's high standards and reputation. John holds a degree in Landscape Horticulture from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies, playing with his son Marshall, spending time with friends, and being outdoors — especially hunting and lake days.

Mark Salmon

Director of Business Operations & Designer

Mark has been with Hoogland’s for over 22 years, bringing deep experience and versatility to the team. He supports many aspects of the business, including administrative operations, H-2B visa compliance for seasonal workers, seasonal color ordering, invoice review, and assisting with the maintenance department. He also contributes to estimating and designing on select landscape projects. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a major in Horticulture from Murray State University. Outside of work, he enjoys fly fishing, cooking at home, and spending time outdoors.

Nash Crow

Director of Maintenance Operations

Nash leads the Maintenance Department and manages a wide range of behind-the-scenes operations. He handles client proposals, invoices, scheduling, team training, hiring, and departmental performance. Nash also oversees Greenius training and maintains quality control across the department. He holds a Louisiana Commercial Pesticide Applicator License. With over 25 years of experience in the green industry, Nash brings deep knowledge and leadership to the team. He also plays a key role in shaping company culture, keeping things light, fun, and supportive. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, working on home projects, and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Carlyle Hoogland

Director of Marketing, Brand & Business Development

Carlyle oversees the company’s brand identity, marketing strategy, and growth initiatives. She leads the creative direction for company materials, from ad design and signage to web content and social media. Carlyle ensures Hoogland’s image reflects its values and professionalism while contributing to business development and operations. She works closely with John to guide the company forward. Carlyle holds a degree in Business Administration with a focus in Entrepreneurship and Marketing, and is a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her son, Marshall, and family, visiting her childhood farm, lake days, working on creative projects such as party planning and interior design, and exploring her and John’s family genealogies.

Danielle McCann

Office Administrator | Human Resouraces & Accounts Receivable

Danielle plays a key role in both Human Resources and Accounts Receivable. She handles client billing and collections, assists with payroll and onboarding, coordinates employee benefits, and manages insurance audits and compliance. With over 20 years of experience in retail management, Danielle brings strong leadership and administrative skills to the team. Outside of work, she enjoys watching her son play baseball, following reality TV and fantasy football, and spending time with family and friends.

Tiffy Salmon

Office Administrator | Accounts Payable & Purchasing

Tiffy manages all green goods purchasing and oversees accounts payable. She assigns purchase order numbers, organizes vendor documents such as COIs and W-9s, processes invoices, and ensures the office is well-stocked with supplies. She also coordinates office events and keeps things running behind the scenes. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband (a.k.a. her personal chef), gardening, fishing, being in nature, and planning fun staycations and vacations.

Rob Milstead

Director of Landscape Operations

Rob is new to the Hoogland’s team and oversees the daily workflow of landscaping projects from start to finish, ensuring quality standards are met and timelines stay on track. He supports the team day to day by bridging communication between project managers and the sales team, performing locates, and assuring project items are correct in company software. Rob brings a strong background in irrigation and hardscape, along with a business degree from Sam Houston State University. He is a Certified ICPI Concrete Products Installer and holds a CDL license. Outside of work, Rob enjoys spending time with his wife of more than 30 years, golfing, hunting, and watching football.

Dane Sanders

Landscape Project Manager

Dane oversees residential and commercial landscape projects, managing scheduling, logistics, and site operations. He orders materials, supports crews, and helps transition client communication after the sale to ensure a streamlined process for both clients and the company. He also assists with gathering on-site information, measurements, and photos for design and estimating. Dane manages equipment needs for the department and ensures jobs are executed efficiently. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Louisiana Tech University. Outside of work, Dane enjoys hunting, shooting, being outdoors, and spending time with his wife and friends.

JR Morgan

Landscape Project Manager

JR manages landscape project execution, from morning rollout and scheduling to job site support and logistics. He orders bulk materials, coordinates with crews, and follows up to ensure work is completed to standard. He also handles 811 utility marking calls and supports client communication after the sale. JR draws on his prior experience in construction and the military to keep operations organized and effective. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his children and staying involved in their school and activities.

Ryan Watson

Assistant Landscape Project Manager

Ryan supports the landscape department as a manager-in-training, learning operations through hands-on experience. He helps with job preparation, gathers materials, and assists with installations, such as flower beds and plantings. He also lends support across departments as needed. Outside of work, he enjoys going to the gym, attending church, and spending time with his dog.

Rick Ellis

Lead Maintenance Account Manager

Rick brings decades of experience in both construction and hospitality, along with nearly 10 years on the Hoogland’s team. He plays a key leadership role in the Maintenance Department, supporting account managers, helping crews set up with the right equipment each morning, and following up on job sites to ensure excellent quality control. Rick is deeply involved in client service, making regular visits to confirm projects meet expectations. His passion for mentorship shows in the way he helps team members grow and succeed. Outside of work, Rick enjoys fishing, hunting, hiking, shopping with his wife, and spending quality time with their children and grandchildren.

Caleb Hensley

Maintenance Account Manager

Caleb works closely with clients to maintain and improve their properties, developing proposals and managing job execution. He ensures crews are trained and prepared for each project. Caleb holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from LSUS. Outside of work, he enjoys musical theater and hiking.

Zach Hatten

Maintenance Account Manager

Zach manages the maintenance and beautification of residential and commercial properties from Bossier City to Ruston. With over 15 years of experience in landscaping and account management, he brings strong expertise and a passion for keeping landscapes thriving. Outside of work, Zach enjoys time with his wife, Summer, as well as hiking, fishing, and exploring local parks.

Carlos Sparks

Maintenance Support

Carlos supports the maintenance team in various ways. He assists with daily crew rollout, delivers tools and equipment, performs equipment maintenance, and trains new employees on operations and shop procedures. With 9 years of landscaping experience, Carlos is recognized for his reliability, energy, and dedication to ensuring things run smoothly. Outside of work, he enjoys bowling, playing pool, dining out, and spending time with family and friends.
